Administrative history

Heritage Research Associates (HRA) was founded by Margaret Carter Hurford (1942-2011). Carter provided archival research services during the late 1970's and throughout the 1980's. HRA was incorporated on December 4th, 1990 and closed March 4th, 2014. HRA provided archival research and professional guidance pertaining to heritage projects and evaluation.

Custodial history

The material was transferred to Archives and Research Collections from the Hurford family in 2013.

Fonds is comprised of material created or accumulated by Heritage Research Associates Inc. The fonds is arrange into 11 series that correspond to projects completed by Heritage Research Associates Inc. The series include: Parks Canada Projects; Canada Post Projects; Royal Canadian Mint Projects; City of Ottawa Projects; Ontario Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Sport Projects; National Capital Commission Projects; Northwest Territorial Government Projects; Canadian War Museum Projects; United Counties of Prescott-Russell Projects; City of Yellowknife Projects; and Town of Caledon Projects.
