Advisory Committee on Academic Planning

Series consists of minutes, draft reports and correspondence concerning work Dr. Holmes and others did on a Advisory Committee on Academic Planning report to the Council of Ontario Universities. Dr. Frumhartz collected these records and used them as reference materials in the course of his work for various committees.

The Advisory Committee on Academic Planning was established December 14, 1970. Its activities fell under the direction of the Ontario Council on Graduate Studies and through them the Council of Ontario Universities, then known as the Committee of Presidents of Universities of Ontario. The Advisory Committee on Academic Planning was responsible for assisting the promotion of graduate studies in Universities, advise on affective planning for the development of graduate studies, design assessments for graduate study programs and the implementation of these assessments. Dr. Holmes, a professor of chemistry, was involved in the committee as a member of a chemistry working group compiling information for a system for evaluating the chemistry graduate study programs.

Canadian Association of University Teachers (CAUT)

This series consists of material accumulated, created and used by Professor Frumhartz during his participation in Canadian Association of University Teachers (CAUT). He served on the Council and Executive of CAUT in 1974-1976 and 1980-1984. The records mainly consist of committee minutes with some correspondence and reports.

Committee on University Affairs (CUA)

Series consist of minutes of the Committee on University Affairs. These records were kept and used by Professor Frumhartz in the course of his work for various councils and associations.

The Ontario Council on University Affairs (known previously as the Committee on University Affairs, CUA) was formed in 1972 by the Ontario Legislature. The OCUA was responsible for advising the government on funding levels and matters relating to post-secondary education for the province.
