Reports, papers, speeches

Series consists of textual materials, including manuals, guidelines, course materials, reports, theses, studies, plans, correspondence, bibliographies, pamphlets, notes, briefs, clippings, speeches, inventories, agendas, press releases, itineraries, charts, data forms, index cards, memoranda, legal documents, curricula vitarum, lists, and newsletters. These materials are accompanied by graphic materials such as maps, floor plans, reproduced photographs, atlases, and prints. Also included are published materials such as journal issues, publications, and photocopied articles. The textual documents in this series focus on subjects including residential design, national parks, houses, rehabilitation, fortifications, heritage regions, the National Capital Region, and architects as well as organizations such as ICOMOS, ICCROM, UNESCO, Heritage Canada, the Task Force on Historic Sites, La Commission franco-québécoise sur les lieux de mémoire communs, the World Heritage Convention, and the Society for the Conservation of the Built Environment. Also included in this series are documents created by Jacques Dalibard, including articles, speeches, publications, and interviews as well as Dalibard's professional portfolio.

Audio recordings

Series consists of audio cassettes which include recordings of conferences, presentations, and radio broadcasts concerning heritage preservation, some of which involve Jacques Dalibard.

Video tapes

Series consists of video recordings concerning heritage conservation in and outside of Canada. Some titles have been produced by the Heritage Canada Foundation and other Canadian organizations such as the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (RAIC), and the Shubenacadie Canal Commission. Other videos in this series concern areas outside of Canada.

Slides and negatives

Series consists of slides and negatives, belonging to Jacques Dalibard. Slides and negatives concern locations in Europe and North America taken in both a professional and personal capacity. Some negatives are noted to be associated with particular presentations and papers. Similarly, some slides are accompanied by guide books. Some folders contain a combination of slides, presentation notes, and an audio cassette, each components of a slide show presentation concerning technical aspects of heritage conservation. These slide show presentations originate from the American Association for State and Local History (AASLH), the Commonwealth Association of Architects, and the Institute for Advanced Architectural Studies, York University.

Subject and reference files

This series consists of documents collected, created, and contributed to by Jacques Dalibard in a professional capacity. Included in this series are documents relating to Government of Canada bodies, such as Patrimoine Canadian Heritage (PHC), the Parks Canada Agency, the Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC), and the Department of Indian and Northern Affairs (INAC). Also included are documents relating to Québec provincial government bodies such as Commission des biens culturels du Québec (CBCQ), and Conseil des monuments et sites du Québec (CMSQ). This series also comprises documents and publications related to international heritage organizations such as the National Trust UK, and National Trust USA, Le Ministre des Affaires Culturelles, L'Office franco-québecois pour la jeunesse (OFQJ), L'Organization des villes de patrimoine mondial (OVPM), the World Jewish Conference (WJC), the Society for the Preservation of Ancient Buildings (SPAB), the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the International Council of Museums (ICOM), the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS), the International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property (ICCROM), and the Association for Preservation Technology (APT). Also within this series are publications related to heritage conservation including pamphlets, booklets, and promotional materials, as well as notes and monographs relating to cities, towns, provinces, national parks, and regions of Canada and internationally. Publications and bibliographies from museums such as the British Museum and the Museum of London are also included, along with journals and publications related to heritage conservation, construction materials, antiques and artifacts, architecture, culture and tourism, local history, countries, and regions. This series also consists of correspondence and notes regarding Canadian preservation legislation, reproduced articles, reports on preservation and specific events in various countries, publications and reports regarding preservation internationally, notes from the board of Contunuité Magazine, and miscellaneous information related to environmental ecology, environmental organizations, eco-museums, sustainable development, first nations heritage, and ethnic diversity. Also included are presentations and publications by Jacques Dalibard, personal research papers and related documents, projects, reports, photocopied theses, articles lists, inventories, and course materials as well as notes from training in restoration architecture, rehabilitation, cultural resource management, and cultural landscapes.

Personal papers

Series consists of textual materials, including clippings, correspondence, and biographical materials. The material within this series concerns Jacques Dalibard's personal publicity, public relations, and receipt of the Order of Canada.


Series consists of documents created and collected by Jacques Dalibard during his appointment as Special Advisor for UNESCO's cultural heritage mission to Cyprus. This includes reports, drafts, notes, inventories, correspondence, maps, guidebooks, publications, slides, and photographs relating to heritage conservation during Cyprus dispute. This series is comprised of five sub-series, each with a title prefaced "Cyprus:". They include Cyprus: UNESCO Report, Cyprus: Inventory lists, Cyprus: Research Notes and Correspondence, Cyprus: Guides, Maps, Publications, and Articles, and Cyprus: Slides.
