This sub-series includes eighteen audio tapes from the 1981 informal colloquium and 1983 conference, both of which were concerned with the editorial procedures of scholarly texts
CEECT held two conferences in 1983 and 1993 pertaining to scholarly editing procedures. The Social Sciences and Humanities Research of Canada grant awarded to CEECT in 1981 stipulated CEECT host a conference on its practices and the contribution of its work to the field of scholarly editing in Canada and elsewhere.
This sub-series includes permission letters and collation. The permission letter files consist of correspondence with various archives and museums for permission to use a portrait of Julia Catherine Beckwith Hart in the CEECT edition.
Douglas G. Lochhead edited St. Ursula's Convent or the Nun of Canada (1824) by Julia C.B. Hart in 1991, the eighth CEECT scholarly text. This publication is abbreviated STU throughout the CEECT fonds.
This sub-series includes eight manuals compiled and published concerning the editorial principles of CEECT and procedures necessary to facilitate the editorial process.
CEECT published several manuals pertaining to scholarly editorial procedures and other activities related to the publications of each CEECT edition. Various publications resulted from the 1983 Conference. CEECT also published instructional manuals for the computer programs and databases created by CEECT for the publication of its texts.
This sub-series consists of grant files and annual reports submitted by CEECT regarding SSHRC funding, including Editorial Board comments.
CEECT received major grants from SSHRC in 1981 and 1986. The stipulations of these grants required CEECT to submit annual and semi-annual reports as well as support letters.
