Wacousta, or, The Prophecy: A Tale of the Canadas

This sub-series includes permission letters, collations, and microfilm. The permission letter file consists of correspondence related to requests posted in the Toronto Globe & Mail seeking the provenance of sketches for Wacousta. There are five microfilm reels of Wacousta used for collation.

Douglas R. Cronk edited Wacousta or, The Prophecy: A Tale of the Canadas (1832) by John Richardson in 1987, the fourth CEECT scholarly text. This publication is abbreviated WAC throughout the CEECT fonds.

Parks Canada

This sub-series consists of records created and accumulated by Herb Stovel related to Parks Canada. Stovel worked on contracts for Parks Canada, which included work on the Rideau Canal corridor, as well as the development of workshops for the Federal Heritage Buildings Review Board, and a Code of Practice for managers of federal heritage buildings.

This sub-series consists of reports, management plans for historic sites, documents from the Historic Sites and Monuments Board of Canada, publications, brochures, and drafts of the Standards and Guidelines for the Conservation of Historic Places in Canada.

Miscellaneous

This sub-series consists of correspondence with various departments at Carleton University, including the Organized Research Unit reports for CEECT and material related to the two CEECT conferences.

CEECT developed relationships with several different departments at Carleton University. CEECT was an Organized Research Unit that contributed to the field of early Canadian literature and scholarly editing. The project also participated in various international literary history programs such as the Canadian/Australian Histoire du Livre. CEECT contributed to the field of scholarly editing with its two conferences in 1983 and 1993, "CEECT Conference on Editorial Principles and Procedures."

Foreign policy

This sub-series contains material created or accumulated by Geoffrey Pearson pertaining to Canadian and other national foreign policies.

Carleton University Press

This sub-series consists of correspondence with Carleton University Press (CUP), including press catalogues.

Carleton University Press (CUP) published and launched each of CEECT's editions. Michael Gnarowski, Director of CUP, was a prominent figure in the publication process of these texts, and served on CEECT's Editorial Board.
