This sub-series consists of grey literature, pamphlets, and documents related to various geographic locations visited by Herb Stovel during the course of his travel. The items collected include information and pamphlets on historic sites in North America, South America, Europe, and Asia.

Health Care

The projects contained within this sub-series are: renovations to the special care unit at Fairhaven Home; renovations to the Scott Clinic; and alterations to the parking lot of the Peterborough Clinic.

United Nations

This sub-series contains material related to Geoffrey Pearson's involvement with the United Nations.

Swiss Ukrainica: Chyzhevsky and Mexin

This series consists mainly of business correspondence between Pavlo Chyzhevsky (Tchijewsky) and Salomon Mexin (representing the Ukrainian trade delegation to Switzerland) concerning their dealings with PABISCO in Geneva for the purpose of establishing credit and financial aid for the UNR Subjects including the financing of propaganda in favour of the UNR, support for a Ukrainian army, the liberation of Ukraine from bolshevism and its reconstruction as an independent nation-state.

Minor files: Postage stamps

This series consists of postage stamps, several thousand of which many are on envelopes reflecting the geographical and chronological range of Batchinsky's correspondence.

International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property (ICCROM)

This sub-series consists of records created and accumulated by Herb Stovel during his involvement with the International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property (ICCROM).

In 1985, Stovel began lecturing and teaching workshops for ICCROM. He also served as the Director of the ICCROM Heritage Settlements Unit from 1998-2004. The documents included in this sub-series consists of notes, correspondence, and records related to courses delivered by the Heritage Settlements Programme, including ITUC (Integrated Territorial and Urban Conservation) and the ARC (architectural conservation course) programme, and other activities.

Stovel authored two well-known ICCROM publications on risk preparedness for world cultural heritage and conservation of living religious heritage.


This sub-series consists of the general correspondence as related to CEECT's research, including publicity correspondence with major Canadian newspapers.

CEECT support staff was in contact with academic institutions, such as museums, libraries, individual scholars, rare book dealers and collectors. Much of CEECT's research was conducted through general correspondence. This contact also served as a form of publicity for CEECT and its texts.

Grant Files

This sub-series consists of grant files and annual reports submitted by CEECT regarding SSHRC funding, including Editorial Board comments.

CEECT received major grants from SSHRC in 1981 and 1986. The stipulations of these grants required CEECT to submit annual and semi-annual reports as well as support letters.

Cyprus: Inventory Lists

Series consists of inventories of collections of Cyprian antiquities including monuments and collections created and compiled in Jacques Dalibard's capacity as a Special Advisor during UNESCO's cultural heritage mission to Cyprus. Also included are documents related to the United Nations force in Cyprus.
