CEECT related

This sub-series consists of correspondence related to CEECT-related activities including the Informal Colloquium.

CEECT invited and consulted American scholar David Nordloh on editorial principles in the early stages of the project. In 1981, CEECT held an Informal Colloquium between the CEECT Editorial Board and David Nordloh with a particular focus on the editorial practices that CEECT would employ with its editors and texts.

The Canadian Brothers or the Prophecy Fulfilled

The permission letter file consists of correspondence with various museums requesting illustrations for Canadian Brothers or the Prophecy Fulfilled. Miscellaneous

This sub-series consists of correspondence with various departments at Carleton University, including the Organized Research Unit reports for CEECT and material related to the two CEECT conferences.

CEECT developed relationships with several different departments at Carleton University. CEECT was an Organized Research Unit that contributed to the field of early Canadian literature and scholarly editing. The project also participated in various international literary history programs such as the Canadian/Australian Histoire du Livre. CEECT contributed to the field of scholarly editing with its two conferences in 1983 and 1993, "CEECT Conference on Editorial Principles and Procedures."

Carleton University Press

This sub-series consists of correspondence with Carleton University Press (CUP), including press catalogues.

Carleton University Press (CUP) published and launched each of CEECT's editions. Michael Gnarowski, Director of CUP, was a prominent figure in the publication process of these texts, and served on CEECT's Editorial Board.

The History of Emily Montague

This sub-series includes the following material: permission letters, collations, and microfilm. The permission letter file consists of correspondence with academic libraries and museums in the United States and Britain requesting permission to use sections of Frances Brooke's personal letters and photographs. There are eight microfilm reels of The History of Emily Montague as used for collation.

This sub-series includes collation and microfilm pertaining to the production of Roughing it in the Bush. There are ten microfilm reels of Roughing it in the Bush or Life in Canada (1852, 1854, 1857, 1871) as used for collation.

Carleton University

This sub-series consists of correspondence with Carleton University faculty and staff with a particular focus on funding.

CEECT conducted much of its business through and with Carleton University. Several departments at Carleton University contributed financially to CEECT; funds came from the Dean of Arts, the Dean of Graduate Studies, Dean of Social Sciences, and Dean of Science.
