Diplomats and diplomacy

This sub-series contains material created or accumulated by Geoffrey Pearson pertaining to diplomacy and related material (including correspondence) involving various Canadian diplomats including Escott Reid and John W. Holmes. This sub-series also includes correspondence with the Department of External Affairs.

Minor files: Leonid Mosendz

This series consists of artifacts, family photographs and correspondence of Leonid Mosendz.

Leonid Mosendz (1897-1948) was a prominent Ukrainian author who became a displaced person after World War II. Suffering from tuberculosis, Batchinsky arranged for him to be hospitalized in Switzerland in 1946. Batchinsky took a strong interest in him (see Mosendz BD) and after Mosendz death Bathcinsky acquired his briefcase containing family photographs, correspondence and other personal effects.

This sub-series is comprised of miscellaneous material (including photographs or photographic copies) pertaining to Lester B. Pearson.

St. Ursula's Convent or the Nun of Canada

This sub-series includes permission letters and collation. The permission letter files consist of correspondence with various archives and museums for permission to use a portrait of Julia Catherine Beckwith Hart in the CEECT edition.

Douglas G. Lochhead edited St. Ursula's Convent or the Nun of Canada (1824) by Julia C.B. Hart in 1991, the eighth CEECT scholarly text. This publication is abbreviated STU throughout the CEECT fonds.
