This sub-series is comprised of novels, serials, sports, gardening, poultry, and photography magazines and general interest publications belonging to the de Carle family. These have been arranged chronologically. There is also a copy of the Rituale Romanum belonging to the parish priest at Williamstown.

The fonds consists of 8 series and 22 sub-series that document the de Carle family monument business founded by Lancelot de Carle in the 1850s and moved to Brockville, Ontario in 1861, and the lives of the de Carle and Grant families. Brockville Cemetery management

This series is comprised of records of plot care down to 1933, payment of grave and vault fees to 1936, and a burial register for 1889-1908, correspondence concerning interments, plantings and plot care is included in the letter books (which also include annual reports) and incoming correspondence files.

Account books

This sub-series is comprised of early work and order books, which preceded or were supplementary to the Inscription Books.

Financial records

This series is comprised of accounting records, employee time and payroll records, bank books, cancelled cheques and promissory notes, and cheque stubs.

Design and design books

This sub-series consists of original and published sketches, prints, templates, blueprints, lithographs and photographs of designs and inscriptions for gravestones, monuments, and fonts, as well as material for ancillary design elements. In addition to designs created by Lancelot de Carle, correspondence and pamphlets from suppliers as well as outside source documents provide additional stylistic examples.

Graphic records

This series is comprised of designs created by or ordered by the de Carle firm, published design books, wholesale catalogues and advertising matter (where separate from the correspondence series), and photographs of the Brockville Cemetery Memorial Works, gravestones, and members of the de Carle and Grant families.

Miscellaneous business records

This series is comprised of business cards, deeds, insurance policies, plans and specifications of buildings, scattered records of Lancelot de Carle's secondary career as a draughtsman for the railways, and of the Ontario Association of Memorial Craftsmen, of which Victor de Carle was president, and a number of cemetery publications.

Order and inventory records

This series is comprised of detailed records of consumer orders, some working notebooks of miscellaneous inscriptions, orders of stone and wholesale monuments, and January 1st or year-end inventories.
