Biographical history
Isla Paterson was born in Fort William, Ontario in 1948. Ms. Paterson received a BA (Hons.) in Individualized Studies from York University in 1974 and an MBA from the University of Toronto in 1982. Ms. Paterson was employed by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) in various roles from 1984-1992. From 1992 to 2000 Ms. Paterson has worked as an advisor, evaluator, and consultant, primarily with CIDA, in areas such as micro-finances, gender equality, the status of women, among other areas. From 2000 until 2016 Ms. continued to complete assignments pertaining to management and project-management, micro-finances, private sector and international development. Ms. Paterson currently resides in Ottawa.
