Administrative history

Marlborough co-op began, as far as the documents in the fonds detail, with a group of people living together at 64 Marlborough Ave. in Ottawa. The earliest date we have mentioned in correspondence is 1971 though it may be the later 1960’s. Their eventual goal was to purchase land to be shared as a cooperative. They purchased 166 Stoughton Sideroad, Calabogie, Renfrew County in late 1976 and was held, in trust, for the eventual, official, incorporation as a co-op. The Marlborough Farm Cooperative Corporation Ltd. was incorporated on May 16, 1980, and the Marlborough/Tatty Hill farm was officially a cooperative farm. The farm was renamed Marlborough Farm Corporation June 6th, 2019.
