Scope and content
Series consists of material that was accumulated by the Department of University Communications for publicity and media purposes. Records include correspondence, newspaper articles, maps, publications, posters, minutes, reports, speeches, programs, media coverage lists, bulletins, floor plans and budgetary considerations. Some of these are included in the sub-series Anniversaries, Panda game task force, President's breakfast and Maclean's Magazine inquiry. Publication final copies are includes as are the working records of production. Also includes promotional photographs for publications and the Herzberg Lecture, 1978.

The series also contains approx. 342 photographs: b&w and colour, 14 negatives, 238 slides, 48 volumes, 24 electronic disks, 1 object: key chain and 9 transparencies.
Several of the files are comprised of newspaper clippings, which are tattered and yellowing with age that have adhesive burns from glue and tape, but they are still legible.
