Series is comprised of material created or accumulated by Robert Handforth pertaining to various aspects of theatre. Series includes: programs for theatre performances in Ottawa and Toronto in the late sixties and early to mid-seventies, including Stratford, and from the Festival of Underground Theatre; playscripts by other writers including Bryan Wade, Carol Bolt, and Lawrence Russell, and Peter Handke; playscripts for plays written by Handforth including a version of Alice, and the Island of Dr. Moreau; director’s copies of plays Handforth directed, with his notes, including Interview, the production that won the Canadian University Drama League competition in 1969 and subsequently was bought by Young People’s Theatre in Toronto for a school tour; as well as material pertaining to theatre in general.
